yeah jimbo's garage good afternoon everyone and welcome backto jimbos garage well over the last few months i've beena few woodworking projects that involves my dewalt portable table saw and if myregular viewers note that when i use
woodworking bench vise harbor freight, that saw i just set it up here on mywelding table or set it on the work bench over here and that's where i usedto do the cuts that i do but because it's a portable table saw it's only two foot has a two foot by twofoot table and it's really not big
enough to run anything big through therebut that's what i've had to work with for the last few years but thanks to acouple of viewers in the comments section suggested that i build a tablefor my table saw and i thought that's a great idea they had referred to ronpulse ox work table i went online and check that out he'sgot an amazing system that would work great for contractors that would want toload this into their truck or van and take to the job site and set it up that's a great system he's got therereally looks good but it doesn't quite work for me since i have my shop righthere and i don't plan on moving it
yeah it in or out of the shot other thanat other than inside the shop right here so what i've elected to do is find alocation and build a small little table deadwood adapt to my little table sawthat would work for me and i think i found that location right here in mywork bench before i have my welding table i have a little extension that i screwedonto the outside right here with a couple legs and it allowed this to beroughly four feet wide by 8 feet long and allow me to put a full for a sheetof plywood on here and wait for a much larger workspace butsince i have my welding table now i have
not used that and so this is a goodlocation i think to build the table that would just adapt to hear and i have awork station right here and provide a big work area for this so as you guys know i don't have audiowork out the plans everything i do is build as i go and that's what i plan on doing on thisproject right here so with that said let's get started this is what i was talking about aboutthe extension of my work table and i use this for years by the way and it workedout really good
and as you can see it's nice and tuckedaway and it's out of the way of anything you know space is always an issue herefirst of all i got these legs i got these legs of a there's nothingsimple it's just a couple of two-by-fours set those right here and ihave cleat across the top right years it's three quarters of an inch down fromthe top of my surface of my workbench and that's where the extension lies inand here's the extension right here on the side out of the way basically yes this thing up set it uphere and i leg right here put them right here and just like that
oh yeah well put a couple screws in hereand that's all you really need to hold in place and a few screws in here and asyou can see the wooden leg they're kind of shot because i've drillso many times in their holes you stripped out but for as much as i usedit this thing worked out perfectly and there you go nice big table easy toput up easy to take down but i'm not using this anymore this is a perfect spot for the table sawtable all right we're getting started here andalso i'm using here is some three-quarter inch at chinese birchplywood that i picked up at my local
lumber supply store you know this stuff here is about tendollars cheaper than than the normal plywood but you know what it's notabsolutely perfect but it's good enough for what that i'll be using it for hereand as you can see i'm just cutting things out with my healthy cordlessskilsaw and how handy with this table saw table be right now when i'm havingto do all these cuts and stuff but you know we're figuring things out righthere this right here you see me cut now this is for the slot that i'm going toneed on for the fence on my table saw it runs on a track and so in order for thatto you move back and forth and have
enough to cut this slot out right hereand not worked up pretty good i'm thinking like i said everything i doi build as i go right here and you know thinking about how things should work sofar were not having any problems and it's starting to take shape it is just finishing up the edges herewith my d walt kicks off just sharpening up the edges after drill them out withthat that drill there may be no to step 2 and just cutting out the would be thesize and you can see them i'm using that that long straight edge you know ibought at buddy i got a harbor freight i gotta have a 4-footer a two-footer andit was like 14 bucks or something for
both of them i can't remember what it was some stupidcheap like that and you know as much as i use those things that they would havegot to say they work pretty good you know for cutting you know longstreet itjust works pretty good here's the table saws sitting up on topof the wood that i'm making the table saw table 4 and if you see the sea thatmight fit in the bottom is all right there that i think it's a two-inch pipefitting and and that at one time i had a four foot piece of pipe that came offthere and went into a trash can for some
sort of dust control that you know i'vegot a better plan for it this time around you see it's starting to take shaperight here and get the side so you know cut out and figure it out and right nowwe're going to go for those some supports for the back and once again youguys to see i used my you know my welding table or right behind me wherethe table saw is now my work badge but for the most part cables the weldingtable gets most of the use this kind of got a lot of room i've got some spaceand that middle of my shop here for that little plastic clamps you see me isright there those things are really
handy little spring clamps up you know you can get him i i think i gotthose craftsman you can see as craftsmen read but there are like five bucks orsomething but you know they're really handy they work really good got straight asagain you know you'll cut all these smallpieces out you know where i could be using that table side to do all thiswith soon enough that's going to be happening you know bejust about the right time that i get this thing built that one
have another with project for a longtime but it is what it is you know when i was purchasing the wood for this i don't know what i was thinking i got asheet of plywood and then i also got some popular i guess i was thinking iwas gonna make the frame out of that a plywood and then me have an edge all theway around with popular and i don't know yeah i could have made the whole thingout of plywood but anyways i've got it so i'm using it and then when it's alltogether we'll see it really doesn't really even matter this lot of table you guys mightremember from the bitch video i had to
cut those two inch wide by four footlong oaks us last for the table so i made this extension feed table i guesscalled for the table saw to run the longboards through and made it for justthat particular project and that's just another reason why i'm making this tableright here so i'll be able to do away with that thing just takes up more spacethat i don't really have my shop you know again just a lot of a lot ofthinking went into this you know trying to figure things out and you know tryingto always be a step ahead of the game and and i i gotta say i i really didn'tmake any mistakes on this this thing went together just as i was open and gotogether and you can see i'm finally
starting to do some assembly here you know there's the popular sides thati thought i was going to get real fancy with but could end up being in plywoodbut now well all good you can see that i'm gluing andbrad nailing things together at first to kind of get things held into positionright here you know that i'm using tight bond glueand on earth as a couple of differentthere's a green model i think that was called ultimate and then there's abluebottle i think it's called original and and i haven't taken the time toreally figure out what the difference is
i see a lot of people out there use andjust about everybody uses tight bond but anyways that's just what happened andyou can see right here and start to screw things together and and i got asad probably way overboard in the spirit department i'm probably going to get blasted in thecomments section about jimbo or you put so many screws in there yeah i know well you know i wanna just seemed likethe thing to do at the time so not only is just saying a you knowglued and nailed it screwed together is not going to be going anywhere
look at all the dust move man can't waitto get this dust control thing figured out so making some angle brackets for thatfor the back half of this this table and you know but those worked out reallygood i i'll i really like the way they worked out now had a different plan forthe for the front of the table and that plan yeah didn't seem to work out so i endedup making that a couple of those angle brackets for the front of the table asyou'll see here in a minute that just kind of getting things up put together
there's angle brackets going in the backstarting to take shape starting to look like something and there were justfitting the base in right now and gluing things down and mana it really nice andsmooth right in there and once got everything all squared up i just nailedit down and here we go yeah screw longer i don't know what i was thinking but youknow what one minute i'm not going to stop now i've got this many screws mrs.just keep the ball rolling and all they are just that they'reinterested quarter drywall screws but there
i don't know what to call their there idon't say that deck screws but they're they're thicker than normal i got a red coat on a monitor just boxesi i had a couple boxes left over for a project that is i just thought it wouldbe the perfect perfect screws to use on this one and everything is thateverything is is countersunk you know the the the drill it out geez he's got a89 which is a be no pilot drill but it's also got a countersunk bit all in onedrill the hole it provides countersink don't i worked out pretty good and thescrews all below level and there's a angle pieces in the very front that whatyou see going in that was ultimately the
best choice i'm glad i am glad i didthat that provided for the best look at the best support coming up here in aminute you're going to see that i used a off by a two and a half inch hole saw todrill a hole in the side for the cord and i got to tell you and that's it that's happening after ido my my router here just look bomb routers for the court roundover bit runeverything i'm just a sanding block and clickinghere and here it is right there i didn't get started drilling a holestraight but man when idea if it jumped off track and it scared me a little bitbut i got squared up and i end up that
working out pretty good ok so this is what we got left with yourgot a good day and yesterday got this thing note from scratch yeah so obviously it's the next day igot late last night but i'm pretty pleased with this thing turned out ithink it's going to work really good and we're almost complete with the onlything i have left to do is to put legs on the outside here and this is theproblem but i've been having the last 48 hours and that is trying to figure outthe analyze what a good way is to put legs on this thing here's a couple ofoptions and then i'm going to tell you
which one we're using because i'm tiredof thinking about it this is what i had on the table that wason here before originally that i used on i just have some wooden legs and you cansee that they say kind of just kind of mounted on under the table and i justput screws in here and that's what held on but you see what happens eventuallythe screw holes were out that i had a couple more screw holes and everythingis just getting loose and so this isn't really a good option here the other option is i thought i wasgonna maybe go with some wooden legs and everything else is wooden and try to getsome sort of a hinge set up on this
so these states would actually fold upand this will fold up but that doesn't work in order to happen this would haveto be up here because this one over here and i know i just don't like that idea so this is what we're going to do else i'm going to get this i into the quartersquare tube right here and i'm going to fabricate a metal piece of stock on thebackside drill some holes in it i'm gonna mount it right like this andi'm going to all the flat plate on the top and then we're going to take these 1inch square - and we're going to be able to shove things up in here like that andi don't then drill and put in through
here and i think that's the way we'regoing to do it it's up that way i can just pull one outand the state's pretty compact and everything is going to be good that's what we're doing so let's getthis thing down that's what i yeah scrap metal section underneath mywelding table there and i grabbed a couple of 360 is plate than i hadsitting around and i decide i'm gonna makes three and a half inch squareplates right here so i'm just marking them out with my silver pencil righthere here we go we got cut them out andthere's probably lens number two right
i've got remarried my last video ilaunched the lens by doing the same thing and i don't know i just got a newone and with that i'm not even one video in and i think i may have already ruinedthe lens but anyways i'm just trying to get someclothes shots in there for you guys and i'm gonna get a cover for that thing ithink i know where you got them all cut out and i'm just over the belt sanderjust around the edges smooth things out and here we are cutting the inch and aquarter square tube this is just going to be the sleeves forthe legs and then we're going out in that region of course trap for the endsright there
and before i i go ahead and weld theplates on i wanted to drill the holes are theseare the holes that are going to accommodate the pin this going toactually hold the legs in place and when i hadn't drill those out i think thiswould be a best time to do that rather than a lot easier now than it would bewhen when the plates are all welded on so just trying to think ahead that's all you know again does samethinking ahead and you know whole layout for these plates i i was trying to thinkokay i get this is laid out right in the middle of the plywood
when i went to pre-drill it i want to besure that the holes are in there as close to the center of the plywood aspossible not in the joint so you know just trying to think aheadagain so you know when i had not got all drill down i'm just using a quarter-inchdrill i think right here i think i'm using a number 14 screw that's going toyou know hold these things on and on this is just a quarter-inch drill andyou guys check out my new chuck i gotta get chuck for last five or sixyears i've been doing with the stock chuck my drill press and you know thedamn thing just didn't never worked at the chuck e only work in one of theholes and it was very frustrating so
it's just recently i got a check andeverything is all good so where are just fuse a man caps onright now about that be the best way to do it and it seems to work really goodsmells nice and clean and when the smells nice and clean it makes for apretty good job and this using those a strong hand mag clamps i'm not certainthe name form at the things i've got several of those and it works reallygood to get over to the host and just kind of cleaning up the world's a littlebit these things are ultimately going to getpainted and you know i kind of want to look as a nice as they can
so while i had my to roll her out whynot let's go ahead and use that to put theseplates on you know again shaking like crazy here may not be theprettiest worlds but you know what everything is good it's going to notgoing to come apart and it worked out pretty good and there's a finished product and here we go we're going to get thisthing painted up and i'm just going to put the co two semi-gloss black on there no primer can be in the shop not toworry about it
never you don't just get them installedand this is what the layout i was telling you about seeing the end the ingreen there i was trying to get the those holes in the in the center of thefinest close as i could but you know that there it is right there and everythingyou know worked out pretty good except for that bottom screw you out i journal man of course when i drill i hit screws that i had screwed thingtogether with that took a little bit get through but everything is good
got them all figured out here i am ameasure for the lengths of the legs kind of based everything out of being leveland hopefully uh you know one cuz all i need these things are going to fit justthe way they should slide them up there mark the hole for the pen gettingdrilled out think of me is not three-eighths inchdrill bit right here i was drilling and drilling and icouldn't figure out why it wouldn't go through the table was too low and i wasbottoming out the drill press once i got that figured out all goodhere we go pingos in nicely slides right over andworked out really good
i was a good choice so we are installingit and i'm pre-drilling it in and just kind of counter sink in this and then 33inch and a half or two inch drywall screws and there it is not goinganywhere perfectly level really happy with thisturned out and this is the first time i'm droppingthe saw in there now i'm just waiting around almost onemore time boom there it is nice and flat flat withmy workbench every service is flat that was a good job turned out prettygood i'm pretty pleased with it well there is
wall portable table saw table this was a great little project and iwant to thank those a couple of commenters you commented that i shouldbuild a table to accommodate my saw i took your advice and did it and i'mgonna do yet i have the right fuels the perfect location for it and it's goingto be working great for future videos i'd like to explain a couple of thingsi've got here on this particular table that's going to be really work out goodfor me one is the fact that the actual tablesauce itself fits perfectly flush inside
the table as well as perfectly flat myexisting workbench this allows me to have a bigger area torun bigger pieces of stock through here maybe even for mates your pride wassomething that i could never do before when the soft as that just that on topof my work bench or on top of my welding i only have this 2 foot by two footsquare area to work with now i've got this big area that's goingto be great the other thing is is the fence thespence right here on this particular saw as a wide range it goes as far as thisway and only over this way and it runs on a track and so i had to put thisgroup in the very back right here to
accommodate that track which is notgoing to be in the way of anything but i do so that worked out really good also i put a hole in the side right hereand that is where the cord for the soft goes through that hole and plugs into aconveniently close of outlet that i have right there and i really like that no cords in the way of anything andanother thing is i put dust control on here at something that i've never hadbefore if you guys remember several videos back and got dust when i'mcutting the everything and so now i can easily hook up my shop back to the backthis dust for that put on here and
that's great we're going to reduce thethe dust actor so i'm excited about that and also portability this this table here is onlyattached to this cleat on the front of my work table here by three screws 3inch and a half drive all screws and force the legs that that's attached onand it is not going anywhere it is perfectly solid is not going tomove its going to love a very stable work area as i'm using the soft and wheni'm not using it i simply removed first of all remove sawit just looks right out and then remove these three screws and these legs thatare attached to these pins and it's out
of here and store probably under mylabel says that the only space that i now for this thing running out of spacein the shop right here so what i want to use it i can just hookit up it's just a matter of seconds to get this thing working properly just amatter of seconds to take it down put it away very convenient overall i'm very pleasedthe way this turned out i can't wait to use in future videos i hope you guys enjoyed watching thisvideo as much as i did make it thanks for watching don't forget to ratecomment subscribe for me
