hi, i'm ed reyes from master builders herein tampa, florida. i am here for expert village and i am going to show you how to use theproper use for a plunge router. now it is pretty fairly easy to upkeep these instrumentshere. the first thing you always want to do is make sure that it is unplugged and youhave no power to it because it is a very high speed instrument and it can do some seriousdamage. so safety first, always unplug the unit. this area up here on top that is thebreather. it is always good to take either a vacuum or blow pump and blow that out becausethis does create a lot of dust between the cutting. the area over here that turns, itis good to get 3 in 1 oil and just grease it every once in a while or wd40 works goodalso. the plunger areas it is good to release
it and there is a spring in here. it is goodto insert oil. i recommend once a month depending on how much you use it. then you want to depressit back and forth so that the oil gets in there. there really are no bushings or anyinternal work to be done here. again, this is another instrument that if it needs tobe repaired and you are seeing some damage to it, you need to take it to a certifiedtech. this is something that you don't want to play with. regarding the bits, cleaningup the bits is very simple. it takes some paint thinner, lacquer on a rag and you rubit around your ball bearings joint here. that is all you need to do. you want to try andstay off the blade itself but you want to keep this ball bearing rolling real smoothand simple. there is a lot of light maintenance
here involved, there is nothing major to do.basically you just want to keep it oiled and you want to keep it running smooth.
