woodworking joints router

this is my box joint machine. if you’ve ever had to cut box joints inexcessively tall stock, this contraption is for you. it translates a horizontal push to a verticalrouter cut. now you can cut precise box joints with yourstock laying flat. the tool is constructed of two parts: a parallelogramrouter guide, and a base. i built this prototype out of mdf. it’s configured to make 1/4” thick boxjoints in up to 3/4” thickness stock. a 1/4” dowel at the front placed exactly1/4” away from the router bit serves as

a relative spacer between cuts. actions speak louder than words, so let’sjump ahead and see this in action! and there’s the box joint. if you’re interested to see this machineas it develops, hit subscribe and you’ll get the updates. i have plans to make it a lot more customizablein the future. thanks for watching, and good luck with yourbox joints.
